Definition


Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function. Though cosmetic or aesthetic surgery is the best-known kind of plastic surgery, most plastic surgery is not cosmetic: plastic surgery includes many types of reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns.


In the term plastic surgery, the adjective plastic denotes sculpting

Image - Theatre Posters

The film and theatre posters for my chosen pieces in which I am crafting. I will try and echo the tone, typeface and colour palette within my own theatre poster designs, from each of the films. I want an audience to recognise and link the image I create, to the film, without any type and hint.

Below I came across some very simply, photography based dance posters. The simplicity of colour, content and type is something I want to reflect in my own theatre poster designs.

I have collected a few images from the film The black Swan, to try and gain some sense of iconic features within the film that I could possibly craft.

 I found the main focus of the images collected to be that of the makeup, which adds to the mysterious, depressing element of the films.

I wanted to focus on the idea of the eyes, creating some form of papercraft which could highlight / add drama to this. I came up with the idea of creating a decorative mask, using the same colour palette and style of the make up used:

- Black (a range of hi's and lows)

- Silver

- Grey

Some examples of the sort of masks I could produce. 

Image - Flashdance scene

The above video is the scene I want to re-create, focusing on the bucket drop, to create a singular still image of this. I could possibly create a mobile using raindrops to simulate the water, and a silhouette style image of the body on the chair.

Image - Creating a paper skirt

I wanted to create a paper skirt for a model to wear, for it to be photographed. I came across a store front design which has a collection of paper ballerina skirts. I'm going to try and attempt to create something very similar using an existing skirt of mine, attaching corrugated paper to it.
