Casa Mia - Website Inspiration

I did find while looking at websites of the same content of my own is that the layout is very similar, I think this is down to the ease of use, they each use a very easy to read and navigate layout, a top bar showing pages, a right or left hand bar showing further optional pages, and a right aligned centre image of an advert or recent promotion. The starbucks website especially caught my eye, I liked its simplicity to layout and colour, it stayed true to the brand.

Casa Mia - Parisi Bakery Menu design

http://www.underconsideration.com/artofthemenu/archives/parisi_bakery.php

I really like the simplicity of this menu, the format of it being attached to a clipboard, and the one colour used across the entire identity. I feel only one or two colours may work with my hand rendered type, this is a way I could approach it.

So i came across a really useful resource which is a website dedicated to menu design. Its something I'll be able to gain ideas and inspiration from.

Casa Mia - Zitos identity, product, range and distribution

The range of products Zitos put their stamp on is very vast, similar to the scale I want to achieve. Items such as loyalty cards, wraps, stickers and t-shirts weren't things I'd come across until now and would be something I'd like to do (if I have enough time). Their menus are typographically driven, are clean and simple, are easy to hold, read and work with.

Casa Mia - Identity

http://logopond.com

I want to create a new identity for Casa Mia which avoids the obvious cliches of an italian restaurant identity - a script, curvaceous, spaced title with the italian flag above it. I found a few which take a modern approach to italian identity, looking at bold, cut out typefaces with a high x-height.

I really like the cut out effect of the above logo and would potentially like to try it.

The above typeface I really like, due to the simple underlying, delicate shadow. I want to try applying this to a range of different typefaces, as it seems cliche of an Italian Restaurant identity, so hopefully it will retain this idea within any typeface.
