Controversial Cosmetic Advertisements

I came across a slideshow on Yahoo! which showed a rnage of headlining stores which had caused controversy over advertisements, some examples shown below:

At the same time, another L’ Oreal brand, Maybelline were in trouble for their Eraser foundation ad modelled by Christy Turlington.
The ASA decided that ads for Lancôme and Maybelline altered the skin of the models in a way that the products could never actually achieve – which prompted the question, how much airbrushing is too much?

While this image from the Topshop website wasn’t banned, it still caused a stir this year following complaints from eating disorder groups.
The photo of Australian model Codie Young appeared on the website for a week before it removed and replaced with a picture of Young looking healthier.
Topshop defended Young, saying she was “a healthy young woman”, but admitted that the original photo “accentuate[ed] Codie's proportions, making her head look bigger and neck longer in proportion to her body”
