Good is...? 'Packaging the brand'

Another purchase from the college book sale - 'Packaging the brand' I thought would be brilliant to buy considering my proposal for 'Good is..?' is going to be based around packaging and promotion. Not only does it provide some inspiration, but the thinking and design process I should go through. It talks of lateral thinking too, which is something Fred had us doing when designing logo's in a workshop session. I intend to read up a lot of information and keep my blog updated with the things I learn.

The idea of having the option to have personalised hand drawn elements to a packaging is something I'm really quite taken to. Its something I wouldn't have thought of doing, but in regard to my sessions in print, it could save a cost in printing. For instance, if producing the packaging for a range of products, instead of printing off a variation, meaning several print boards need to be set up, you could print just one, in which the product details could be written onto.

I really like this simple and consistent packaging design, the packaging being just simple label stickers. I like the use of typography here, changing the case size, composition and alignment is really effective and interesting.

I really like the use if slogans within the packaging. The logo too is very clever.

I absolutly love this idea, packaging a t-shirt although its the product on the top design. It really makes me want to do something just as imaginative with the packaging. Making it look like something its not. Amazing design.

I love this design too! Using the material of the object packaged as a design focus when approaching the packaging, almost carrying on the design from product to packaging, making it look 2d, and just one item.
